HIGHMARK DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING PRIVILEGING REQUIREMENTS

Highmark has established new provider privileging requirements from diagnostic imaging to be effective January 1, 2009. The text of the requirements is available on the Highmark website in the ResourceCenter and is also attached below as a PDF.

The use of fluro is solely reimbursed when used by credentialled radiologist.
most use of fluro, for example in an OR is done by surgeons, radiologists bill the next day, but not Captain of the Ship or taking responsibility for example correct level, placement of instrumentation etc
invasive procedures are done by pain managers widely: anaethesiologists, PM&R and many others
This seems to serve radiologists inappropriately
